2025 Ford F-250
The 2025 Ford F-250 continues a legacy spanning nearly five decades as part of America's favorite truck lineup. Built for the toughest jobs and heaviest loads, the F-250 is the go-to choice for those who haul heavy equipment to worksites or big trailers on weekend getaways.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
Ford's 2025 F-250 has five models — the XL, XLT, LARIAT, King Ranch, and Platinum. The base XL has a black grille, 17-inch steel wheels, and halogen headlamps. The XLT features a chrome grille, 18-inch aluminum wheels, and LED headlamps.
LARIAT models have body-colored exterior parts, power-folding mirrors, and 20-inch polished aluminum wheels. The King Ranch has a Stone Gray grille, power-deployable running boards, and new Avalanche paint. Platinum models have a satin-finish grille, 20-inch polished wheels, Ruby Red Metallic paint, and LED fog lamps with chrome bezels.
Engine (Power)
XL models have a 6.8-liter V-8 gas engine that produces 405 horsepower and 445 pound-feet of torque. The XLT and higher get a 7.3-liter V-8 that delivers 430 horsepower and 485 pound-feet of torque.
For serious hauling, there are two diesel options. The 6.7-liter Power Stroke V-8 turbo diesel produces 475 horsepower and 1,050 pound-feet of torque. A High-Output version delivers 500 horsepower and 1,200 pound-feet of torque. All engines pair with a 10-speed automatic transmission.
Performance
When properly equipped, the 2025 F-250 tows up to 30,000 pounds with a conventional hitch. Switch to a fifth-wheel setup, and that jumps to 35,000 pounds. With a gooseneck, that figure increases to 40,000 pounds. The bed handles up to 8,000 pounds of payload.
The Power Stroke diesel sends an F-250 SuperCrew 4x4 to 60 mph in 5.5 seconds. The Tremor package adds a beefed-up suspension, skid plates, and 35-inch all-terrain tires. Rock Crawl mode and Trail Control take the stress out of tricky off-road situations.
Interior
The XL gets wipe-clean vinyl seats for dirty work days, while the XLT adds softer cloth seats and an eight-inch SYNC 4 touchscreen for phone connection, music, and navigation.
LARIAT models have leather-trimmed seats, a 12-inch digital gauge cluster, and a B&O sound system. The King Ranch has patterned leather seats that recline nearly flat. The Platinum has soft premium leather, real wood trim, and a 1,080-watt B&O system with 18 speakers. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come on all but the base model.
Safety Features
The XLT and higher trims have pre-collision assist and automatic emergency braking, while the optional 360-degree camera gives you a complete view around your truck. Trailer sway control automatically corrects side-to-side movement by applying brakes to specific wheels. The blind-spot system also watches your trailer's blind spots. Individual tire pressure sensors alert you to trailer tire issues. The King Ranch and Platinum trims add Pro Trailer Backup Assist. You just turn a knob and the truck steers your trailer precisely where you want it, making reversing effortless.
